A unique event that builds musical and spiritual bridges between East and West is set to mark the New York arts calendar: the "March of Love" concert! Presented by Turkish Airlines and organized by the Turkish American Arts Society of New York (TAASNY), this inspiring evening combines classical music genius with the mystic atmosphere of Mevlana Rumi.
The concert will feature world-class artists brought together under the baton of the globally renowned maestro Gürer Aykal, leading the acclaimed New Manhattan Sinfonietta orchestra. This night is not just a musical feast, but a powerful celebration of poetry, spiritual depth, and cultural unity.
A Two-Part Program Spanning from West to East
The program for the evening opens the doors of two different musical worlds to art lovers:
Part 1: The Brilliance of Classical Music
The first half of the concert features an exhilarating performance of one of Mozart's most beloved works, the Piano Concerto No. 21 in C Major, interpreted by award-winning pianist Can Çakmur. Celebrated for its luminous beauty and emotional depth, this concerto sets a brilliant tone for an evening of artistic excellence.
Part 2: The Mystic Voice of Rumi
The second half transforms into a truly transcendent experience. Dedicated to Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi, this devotional performance features the legendary figure in world music, Omar Faruk Tekbilek. He will take the stage alongside River Guerguerian (percussion) and Hasan Isakkut (kanun), while the Whirling Dervishes of the Istanbul Historical Turkish Music Ensemble (under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism) fill the venue with the spirit of Şeb-i Arus – The Night of Union. Music, movement, and devotion come together in a powerful celebration of love and spiritual unity.
